Sony Playstation PS One - Video Game Console

best system out there (I mean that)
All the people who write 1-star reviews NEVER played this system. They just write stuff to hopefully be one of the top 1000 reviewers...
Now for the real review:
I had a choice to make a year ago. Xbox? ps2? gcn? gba? dc? I had considered all of these. I decided to drop xbox and gcn becuase or their terrible game selection. I dropped dc when i heard it was discontinued. So that left gba or ps2. I also dropped gameboy advance because i had gameboy pocket, the original, and gbc. Right now they are deep inside my closet collecting dust.
After much research, I finally came to a conclusion to ask for a ps2 for the holidays. I added up all necessary harware accesories and games to see how much they all cost. A console, memory card, controller, and 5 descent games costs around 600 dollars. I dont know about you, but after my parents spending 600 dollars i dont think they will be geting me new games that often.
Looking even further, i decided to take a shot with the 7 year...

PSone. It's so CUUUTE!!!
I wasn't planning on getting this at first; I've got a reserve for a PS2. But after seeing one, I had to grab!
Okay, what is it? Essentially, it's just a PlayStation (same specs and everything, minus serial and parallel ports); only smaller. MUCH smaller (take 2 DVD cases, stack them on top of each other, and you've got an idea of PSone's size!). Personally I always thought that the original PlayStation was compact, but THIS wins the prize!
You also get a Dual-Shock controller (same as the previous ones, which you can STILL use), the power supply (external now; this isn't a battery-operated portable), and an A/V cable (just like the old PS, you still need to plug this into a TV). Supposedly (hopefully), Sony will be bringing out a clip-on screen for the unit next year.
Although this isn't quite a fully-portable game system (right now, you still need an AC plug and a TV screen), it is far more TRANS-portable than any other console on the market today; much more...

All About the PS One
I really do love this system, and I'm happy I bought it, even with the Playstation 2 coming just around the corner. There are a couple of things you should know if you are considering this console, though...
The PS One is simply a Playstation, it plays all the same games, and offers no improvements in speed or graphics. If you look at the picture, the system actually is about the same size as the controller! It's very small, and yes, very "cute", but all Sony did was take the old Playstation and put it in a new case.
The PS One is not really a portable system. The LCD screens I've seen for it are the size of a CD - hardly big enough for most PS games, especially RPGs. Also, you will still need a power outlet, and the controller will always be seperate, so playing a few rounds of Tony Hawk between classes is hardly convenient. It is easier to move from TV to TV, though.
The Playstation 2 plays 99.9% of the games that the PS One does. Also, the PS2...
