Onkyo HT-S3700 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver/Speaker Package

Great product!!
Definitely a great buy. For the money it is well worth it. It sounds awesome too!! It delivers what it promises. It actually sounds better than my neighbors more expensive system.
It was delivered on time and the packaging was excellent. The only thing I could say is to buy your own speakers cables. That will make a huge difference in sound quality.

ONE REMOTE TO RULE THEM ALL
The remote is the secret gold nugget of this system.
I have not set up a pure HDMI system before, but was very impressed with the HDMI remote control pass through feature.
The system I set up consisted of the TV, the new receiver, a DVD player, an AppleTV, and the cable box. I looked up the remote control codes for each and programmed the Onkyo remote. It allows complete control of every piece of gear!! Even the cable box.
I personally own a Logitech Harmony remote, and was expecting to need one for this new system I set up, but that Onkyo remote is the crown jewel of the system in my opinion. It takes a little experimentation to see which control button acts as the home button for the AppleTV, but it works great! It also takes some experimentation to figure out power sequencing, but one button shuts all the gear off at once. (there are three discreet power buttons on this remote).
I think the speaker wire is fine, but might be a bit short in some...

Very Satisfied with this system!!
We renovated our family room and purchased this system to hook-up to our 60" Sony flat screen. Sounds great!! We ran 14 ga. speaker wire in the walls before sheetrock. Set-up for my husband was easy. Don't use the speaker wire that comes with the system, it's too small. 14 ga. is the max size to use or any heavier wire wouldn't fit into the jacks/clips on the back of the receiver. Great system for the price. Don't be afraid of the settings menu, set it to your room is also easy >> instructions were no problem, my husband felt he was part of the "Geek Squad" LOL.
