I like it well enough. The app is unnecessary
I am not an audiophile. I have been content with my TV speakers for years. I have never owned an audio receiver, and I have never owned any speakers for my television. I have always liked the idea of a "sound bar", as well as owning a subwoofer. I love movies, so you'd think this would have been something I bought long ago. I held off on it for a long time because I live in an apartment, and I never liked the idea of a subwoofer shaking my place and possibly upsetting the neighbors. This device has a solution for that, which I will go into in a minute.
First, set up is a breeze. You literally do nothing - no waiting, no pairing. Just plug it in. Even the wireless subwoofer you just plug into a power outlet. I'm told that the human brain cannot detect which direction low-frequency sounds are coming from, so I have this sitting across the room behind my couch.
Second, there are many, many sound options. There's a "Movie" mode, a "Game" mode...
Fantastic sound and easy set-up
I am not an audiophile. I'm an old guy with hearing aids and I still have trouble hearing dialogue from a sound system. I have one very high-end system at home for our main TV. I still have problems and with some movies I need to put on the closed captioning. That's my situation.
Now, about this system. It's heavy out of the box and you might need help moving it around. It was really easy to set up to our other TV. The sound is fantastic. In fact, I prefer it to the big system we have. For some unknown reason to me dialogue is much easier to hear and I don't find myself using the captioning. I have no issues with low frequencies and those sound super-rich. It fills the room with sound. It's not a surround system but it often fools me into thinking it is. Again, some kind of magic is at work. All that said, I personally think it's a great system and I'm still amazed at the quality. Great job, Sony.

Great sound at a fair price
As soon as I hooked it in I fell in love I did not want to commit to a full surround-sound system with cords and speakers everywhere, this sound bar fills the room perfectly with a nice amount of bass. Solid Bluetooth connection and sounds great for video games (ps4) I did not want to break the bank with thousand dollar sound bars but this one sounds like it could hang with the best. Sony always make solid products but I still got the four year protection plan a Best Buy. Will update if any problems occur but for now I am extremely pleased with the price, sound and value of the system
Update 8-4-14
Still loving this sound bar when I host movie night and crank up the sound people are very impressed. The Bluetooth is absolutely flawless i've never had any other Bluetooth device stream so well without any distortion or drop of quality in the music. The only complaint I have is that I've seen this go on sale a few times and I paid full price but still easily worth it. Your...
