Bose Wave Radio III

excellent product except for 3 cheap features.
Pros----robust and very well built piece of equipment. Sonic quality is excellent. Very capable of producing that room filling sound that Bose loves to brag about. Several nice features such the automatically dimming display when it is lights out time. Also when one turns on the unit the volume will gradually increase to whatever the last level was. In other words one is not blasted away. AUX input. I use it quite often with a Sirius Stratus 6 Satellite radio/remote and the Sirius Home docking station. Excellent sound! Bose remote control easy to use but ,,,,,see below!

Cons--a bit pricey, weak FM reception by using the AC line cord as an antenna, cheap on Bose's part for NOT supplying a dipole antenna. C'mom BOSE!!! Maybe the AC linecord works great as an FM antenna in some areas but not out here in the county in KY!! The biggest con is the remote control. It controls everything with the the exception of touching the top to turn on/off, ALL functions are contained...

Exceptional sound quality ~ A bit pricey, as is everything from Bose
I purchased the original Bose Wave radio back in 1994. During the course of a recent move from Florida; the carton that it was in got inundated with rain and damaged the unit beyond repair. Since I had been so happy with its performance; I decided to go ahead and purchase a new one. I've always been very pleased with Bose products, although I do feel that they're on the pricey side. As far as the new unit goes; the sound quality is equal to or better than the original version. The original one sounded phenomenal to me, so it would be difficult to improve upon that. The sound is crisp and very rich sounding, easily filling up a medium sized room with sound you would expect from much larger speakers. Since I live close to a metropolitan area; I have no trouble getting a strong signal from both AM & FM stations, a problem that some people have had. There are a few things that I find are an improvement over the original version. The radio displays text information, so I'm able to obtain...

Three Cheers for Bose
Already having a Bose radio in my bedroom, I decided that I also wanted one for the living room, and I am so glad I ordered it! If you are not familiar with the Bose sound, you owe yourself a treat. The audio in these Bose radios is all encompassing--the bass is deep and rich, while the tenor sounds are clear and distinct. I just love them!! This particular model does NOT have a CD player in it, however, which is fine, because I plan on purchasing the multi-CD player. The AM is as wonderful as the FM. Turn up the sound on your favorite stations and you are taken away. As far as operating the Bose is concerned, all tasks are very easy and well-explained in the Users Guide which comes with the product. I would also like to add that this model can display the name of the song being played, in addition to the station ID, but I turned that function off because I did not need it. DO NOT LOSE THE REMOTE! If you do, you will have to order another one. The radio has no buttons or push bars on...
