I bought a Yamaha ATS-1030 from Costco and although it sounded pretty good, there was barely any bass (no stand alone subwoofer) and at higher volumes would distort. So I chose to return and find another product in the $200 range. Found this and I am oh so pleased.
I received a big brown box that was somewhat heavy and said Vizio on the side. There was no damage to the box itself. Once I opened the box, I was pleased to see everything looked brand new and packed wonderfully. Not one speaker had a scratch. There was a smaller box inside that included a bunch of different wires, a remote, batteries for remote, installation hardware, and instruction. Turned My Bedroom into Another Media RoomHave a 55" Vizio smart tv that we love except for not being able to hear the voices in a show or a sports announcers during games. Even with the surround sound function disabled on the tv, voices were lost. Turning up the volume would not resolve the issue, it would just make the issue even more obvious.
Enter the Vizio Soundbar. WOW!
Hooked it up within minutes, took longer to unpack than to hook up. Well packaged.
It sounded great right off the bat. Then when I enabled the surround sound function on the tv, double WOW!
Not only does the center channel bring the voices to the forefront of the total sound, you hear little sounds that were never noticeable before from the small rear speakers. Of course you also get great thumping from the subwoofer so we are very excited about this purchase.
If there is any con about this unit is that watching a shootem' up late at night can be challenging because you have to be ready to turn down volume during...
My Pick After Lots Of LookingThis is a nice sound bar. I did a lot of searching for a way to affordably get surround sound without having to run cables under the floor. Love that it has a wireless sub and satellite speakers. The sub does not have line of sight to the sound bar, but works fine. The satellite speakers connect to the wireless sub.
The sound is great and the sub is more than enough for our living room.
Every so often it doesn't connect to the selected input correctly. Cycling through in inputs again always works.
