Beyerdynamic Headzone PC Gaming Digital Surround Sound System with MMX300 Digital Headset with Microphone

Fantastic Device

This is a fantastic dac/amp. Connect a great pair of headphones and you hear pretty high quality sound.
The device might be outdated but I'm not sure about that. Maybe a USB connection for higher quality sound will be added to future versions.
I have tried it with Sennheiser HD 800, Beyerdynamic MMX 300 and Sennheiser G4ONE. Obviously the HD 800 gives you the best quality when paired with this amp. MMX 300 sounds better than G4ONE, but it's not as comfortable. MMX 300 fits a bit tight and it's slightly heavier. Also, it's closed design. G4ONE has an open design.
Finally, this product really makes a difference! But I wouldn't buy at its regular price. But at a good sale price, it's totally worth it!

Audio Utopia

I have been on a quest to locate the perfect audio set up for my gaming rig and I found it. This sound system combined with Beyerdynamic Headset is absolutely perfect for my application. It is connected to my Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional sound card via optical.

The sound is crisp, clear and very loud. If you are looking for solid audio for gaming, listening to movies or music look no further

Beyerdynamic MMX300 PC Gaming Premium Digital Headset with Microphone

Best Gaming Headphones. PERIOD.
For those that don't want to read a two-page review, here is a short summary of the pros and cons. Keep in mind that I own other audiophile quality headsets and that I have owned these for just under a year (so I have given them enough time to review unlike some who write review the day they arrive).

Pros:

- Overall: Best sounding gaming headset you can buy. I essentially bought these because I didn't want to have to change headsets when I wanted to game, watch a movie, or listen to music on my home computer. I wanted something that would serve all of those purposes. What I didn't need: something small, something easy to travel with, and something with a detachable mic. I couldn't have asked for a better sounding headset (shouldn't even really call it a gaming headset as it doesn't sound like one).
- For gamers: I am a big COD/Battlefield fan, and these headsets are so amazing it is hard to put it into words. In COD:Black Ops, I can hear the direction...

Amazing
I ordered these after being disappointed by the Sennheiser PC350 headset. The sound coming out of the PC350s had a kind of plastic-y echo to it, like something you might hear from cheap desktop speakers. But the real problem with them was the mic -- it has a high-pass filter to reduce background noise and apparently my voice is too deep for it. I came through sounding clipped and choppy.

I searched around for reviews on the MMX 300s, but they're hard to find. A friend of mine has the DT 770s and I've always liked their sound, so I took a chance and bought these. I'm really glad I did.

First, the mic: The mic on the MMX 300s is extremely sensitive. I've had to turn off all software gain and reduce the input volume to avoid blowing my teammates eardrums out, not to mention distorting my voice. Consequently the mic will pick up a bit more noise than the PC350s but at least it will also pick up your voice, and will do an excellent job of it.

Lived up to expectations
I've been in the market for a true, audiophile grade set of headphones for a while, looking to upgrade from some Sennheiser 555s. The 555's are a great set of headphones with full and natural sound, but they were lacking clarity in the highs/mids and low-end punch. I don't consider myself to be an audiophile so I can't churn out technical terms, but I was simply trying to find the "it" sound, and these did it for me.

The highs and mids are crystal clear and are the cleanest I've heard in any set. I'd describe the bass to be punchy, clean (not muddy), and not overwhelming - perfect for bass heavy stuff without compromising any of the clarity.

A few things that I found after first using them:

- The tension is on the stiffer side, definitely more than my Sennheisers. I'm used to it now, but I can definitely see how these could fatigue larger heads after a while.
