Tomodachi Life

Tesla vs Edison Rap Battle
Very quirky game with a plethora of stuff to do. The game starts off pretty simple enough. You make your first resident for your freshly created island. You can either import characters from your Mii Maker collection or make a brand new one from scratch, which is ideal for adding any super custom characters you might want, like Nikola Tesla, and Conan O'Brien like I did, or you can use the photo to Mii feature which allows you to take a pic and gets transformed into a Mii. Kind of accurate, but I prefer the more manual approach. The game slowly reveals new features the more you progress and the more your Mii's level up. The heart of the game is the characters that you end up building. They all kind of go out and do their own thing throughout the day. They might be in their apartments, or they might be at work somewhere on your island. You must keep them fed and happy, or things might start to go awry. A few hours in, and already there's angry and depressed Mii's scattered that...

Nintendo's first social game aimed for casual gamers, hardcore fans of Animal Crossing might want to try the demo first
*UPDATE*
I want to clarify my review a bit. Many gamers are going to look at this game as very similar to Animal Crossing, but this is not the case. This game relies on wacky interaction between the Miis, but you do not have direct control of any of the Miis like you do with your village avatar in Animal Crossing. More importantly, you won't spend hundreds of hours in this game like you would in Animal Crossing collecting money to repay Tom Nook, or upgrade your town. Despite this, Tomodachi Life is a great game for casual gameplay.

****ORIGINAL REVIEW****

I got the early demo for this game and realized that I had to get this "game", which feels like it ought to be on iOS, or Android, or even Facebook, than the 3DS. As most reviewers have said, the game is a mix of Animal Crossing and The Sims, with really quirky humor. You are the proprietor of an island (which you get to name), and then you get to pick 30 Miis to invite to live on your island. You can get...

Fun initially, but loses its sparkle
When I initially bought this game, I had an incredible amount of fun with it. It was so exciting seeing all my friends and some fictional characters and celebrities I created all interacting with each other, getting married and making friends while I just oversaw their activity. However, things quickly grew stale. After I unlocked all the buildings, there was really nothing else to do. I could enter the game each day to see if there were any new items in the shops, but even that lost its charm after a couple of weeks. I heard many people comparing this game to Animal Crossing and The Sims, and here's the main difference between them: those games are fun and stay fun over time, whereas this game is fun but loses its appeal very quickly. If you're looking for something to pick up once in a while just to play for a few minutes, then this game is for you - otherwise, I'd pass.
