Mario & Sonic Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games with Blue Wii Remote Plus - Wii U

The Best Mario & Sonic Olympics Game!
I must say after the last Summer Olympics game I was not very hyped up for this one, but I needed a good party game for the Wii U so I bought this. First off it is a great value with a blue Wii Mote! This game is actually a lot of fun to play with a group of people, and it also has a lot of neat stuff for a single player. You can play a few events online with friends or with people from around the world. The events are all done very well and the AI can give a good challenge.

Pros
- Great Value with controller
- Great Graphics
- A ton of things to unlock from outfits to music
- Online gameplay
- Multiplayer is fun
- Single Player is fun
- Great cast of characters
- The game keeps a lot of records so if your friends have this game it can get very competitive if everyone has online

Cons
- More events should have been playable online
- This game could use DLC for more events, characters, etc.
- Some hidden...

Very well done
Ok, so you are limited if you want to play games online with others. So what. The beauty of this was it was priced well... $50 for a new game and a Wii plus remote ($40 alone just for that or $20 reconditioned directly from Nintendo). The graphics are awesome. I know, I know it's not PS4 or Xbox One level, but excellent for a lower priced system.

My 4 year old and 5 year old were able to quickly figure out how to play the games. I joined them too. I had fun. It's more fun than Mario 3D World because the games are competitive.

What's also cool is all of the characters -many Mario franchise ones and the Sonic ones. 100% recommend!

Fun and entertaining
Overall, this game does a lot of things right with the content it provides. There are numerous Olympic Events mixed with a few fun made up games that have the ability to keep your attention and wonder for many hours. Each event has its own individual method of perfection and it will take sometime to master them all in order to get the highest score. My only complaint about the events is that they seem to demand the Wii mote more than the gamepad. When one the main selling points of the Wii U is that gamepad, why have such a mainstream game focus so much on old technology. I wanted to use the gamepad because the potential is so high. Having the ability to use your Mii in the events is also a great function. Dressing your Mii with new customs and equipment to change not only his cosmetic look, but his attributes is a lot of fun. Online play was a big selling point for me with this game, but only having three events available online was very disappointing. Personally I would say if you...
