Killer Instinct Combo Breaker Pack - Xbox One

Finally a Physical Release of This Awesome Game
As a sucker for physical media, I was really, realllly hoping that Killer Instinct would one day be released on disc, and that day is finally here!

First and foremost, this is just the Combo Breaker Pack as it states on the box, so you won't be getting the extra costumes, KI Classic, etc. with this. I kinda wish they would've put KI Classic on the disc and charged $10 more, but that ship has sailed.

What is here, however, is the great Killer Instinct reboot from Xbox One's launch in 2013. You'll receive all of the content that the Combo Breaker Pack would net you if you were to purchase it digitally, but now you get to have it on a disc for those of us who like to collect games or just have physical media. Since I own every Killer Instinct on physical media, I was happy to buy this one (purchased from Best Buy).

If you already have the game digitally, don't care about having it on a disc, and don't care for having TJ Combo in the Season 1 game, then...

Great game, physical release is a waste of space unless you can't/don't want to download instead
Finally Killer Instinct gets the actual physical release it deserves, but... it's not really anything special (the package I mean, not the game.... the game is just awesome)

Killer Instinct is, for me, the best reason I purchased an Xbox One. I love the game so much that I invested in one of the Mad Catz KI Tournament fight sticks.

If you ever played the original games, Double Helix (and updated and later curated by Iron Galaxy when DH was bought by Amazon) created a wonderful homage to the those, while putting a unique spin on the characters and combo system. There is an element of dial a combo, but there are also the manual inputs, shadow moves, shadow counters, and the counter breakers to contend with, making the depth of the game quite deep.

Online fighting is fantastic. They are working to tighten up match making, and they've come a long way from where they were when the game first released. I don't feel they are where they need to be, YET, but...

Killer Review
$10-$15 on a daily deal, when this item still sells on the xbox marketplace for about $30-$40.
Why not?

The download was not straight forward.
You expect to put the disc in and all of your characters download....
that's not the case.

You also have to keep the disc in to play the characters that are included, because it's not traditional DLC.

keep that in mind.
other wise it's a great game, and it was priced where it should be.
